The fabled gossiping birds sing songs of assumed human motivation — understanding them from the heights of flying, the worm-providing earth. They mix these with their own flights of fancy to provide information for those who ask (and also occasionally those particularly oblivious). Humanity gives them a guest spot in their children’s tales, but the avions have layers of complexity that can only come from intimate knowledge of horizon space; they sometimes share with the horses, who are intimately acquainted with humans, but carry their own more solid ideas.
